The labyrinth and the memorial stone

BCC was a strange experience for me. It was my first shot at college; the first two years of my advancement towards a professional degree. At times, I look back and think that it was a nightmare and at other times, I think of the fun I had there. The boyfriend at the time made it almost unbearable and the friends made it so much fun! On Saturday, I was tutoring in the library and I had some extra time so I walked around a little. I remembered every place in the school and I knew how to get from one building to the other without getting wet when rain fell. I guess i knew every place in the school.

While there, I went to Darsh's memorial stone. Darsh, for those who haven't read my blog, was a very good friend who died three years ago. He touched many people in the short time he lived and for many of us, we identify the good times at BCC with Darsh. He always seemed to be part of the fun. His memorial faces the Student Life building where he spent most of his time.

After, I walked towards the library. The path that i took led me past the labyrinth. I remember when the men first started painting the labyrinth and I was wondering why they were painting in circles. The labyrinth was a lot of fun. I must have been amongst the first set of people to walk in it and come out back. It's different from a maze. Less confusing and entrapping. In a labyrinth, there is a way out. I used to sit on the bench with my ex boyfriend and we argued a lot there. One day when i was alone, i walked in the labyrinth and I thought of the relationship and it was in there, when i reached the middle and was on my way out that i realized I needed to walk out of the relationship. You would walk in confused and walk out with answers. That's how the labyrinth was.
The next picture I took was of the OMNI auditorium. The jagged top is easily recognizable and even more so now since they were painted in a brighter color.

By the time i was done walking and taking pictures, it was time to tutor...I made my way back to the library.

I loved the Darsh memorial and some times I feel the pain that goes on with you...
