The Lizard in the shoe....

yesterday, a lizard was ousted out of his home in a very comfortable, and big pair of sketchers. (furgie got some big feet!). I must say it was the most hilarious thing to see furgie screaming and kicking the shoes off in the middle of the walkway. i was already in the car with my dad putting on my shoes when i looked up to see what he was laughing at. he was in stitches. looked up in time to see furgie kick the shoes away and start jumping. there are some images that one will never forget...and this is one of them i will always think about and laugh. where was the camera when i needed it!!!! my mom was standing in the patio listening to my dad teasing her when nan's drama started. she turned red from laughing so much! the funniest thing is furgie was all dressed up for school.
now the first thing everyone asked was what would possess us to keep our shoes outside....for that, i really cannot answer except that we only wear shoes when we are outside so it's more convenient to just pick them up from the patio on the way out instead of going to the laundry room and looking for them. since i hate lizards and anticipated an episode like furgie's, i keep my shoes in my room. take them off outside and carry them to the room. saves me the trouble. then, that leaves the shoes that belongs to my dad and furgie....and we don't have to worry about anyone trying to steal their shoes because they both have big feet and it's likely that no one can fit into those shoes. my neighboorhood has a lot of central american natives and they are much shorter than my dad...and the women have little hands and little feet...like dolls...so stealing is not a problem. as for the lizards and other critters, we are thankful that it was only a lizard.
