In St. Augustine, I made it in time to get to see the interior of the Castillo de San Marcos. I can tell now why it is St. Augustine's number 1 attraction, according to YAHOO! travel. It was awesome. I saw engraved writings in the wall made by the Spanish soldiers when Spain controlled the fort. There was a prison in there that smelled old and damp. There were no lights nor windows and where there were windows, they were carved out into the rock. Even though it was a hot day, we had a breeze from the sea coming in. It was not at all bad. I like old buildings. They carry a history to them and sometimes, while walking through them, for a brief moment, you feel as if you are walking through the same time space.
On Tuesday night/Wednesday morning, we celebrated the birthday of Sri Krsna. Nan and I led the puja. Not many people came though. I guess it was a school night and the parents did not want to keep their kids awake that late. I have reservations about this though. I remember when we were little, we stayed up with our parents for all major festivals and still made it to school the next day. This is just one day for the entire year that we celebrate this day. Maybe people like to make everything convenient for them only.....then where does the sacrifice go? The main point, i was happy to be a part of that night.
Yesterday, it was my first day back to work. Wednesday......There is this guy who comes in the store. Yes, this is one of my work experiences again! the guy deals in the antique and sports car business. He will buy them and fix them then sell them. His own car is a Corvette...not the newest model but the model before it. So this guy comes in the store for a Starbucks expresso everyday and he likes to fix his own prices. He walks in with his eyes closed and even after the double shot, he cannot wake up. I knew something was bound to happen. Several times, he has spilled his coffee all over the counter and it has seeped under the glass showcase. I dread having him open his drinks in the store. Sometimes i feel like throwing cold water on him to wake him up....he is always so sleepy....no matter what time of the day.
so yesterday i saw him. He was sleepwalking again but this time he had a neckbrace on and his eye was purple and red where the white should be and his lip was busted open. this is the conversation.
Me: "what happened?"
Him: "I had an accident."
me: "somebody hit you?"
Him: "no, i ran into somebody."
me: "you were sleeping weren't you?"
Him: "I guess so."
I figured that much will happen. and even worse was this guy was driving and he was on medication and STILL sleepwalking!
Book season has officially started. I will be busy until further notice........At least i had the trip to rejuvenate me=0)
PS....Porgito has asked Bubbicito (in a nice manner) not to talk about Porgito on Bubbicito blog. Therefore, since Porgito was nice, Bubbicitio will comply. also, Bubbicito no hate Porgito as much as Porgito no gusta Bubbicito. Porgito es un "hater!"
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------I have attached pics that we took while walking along the Savannah River in GA. I love this place...Historic Savannah. The first one is of Ami and I and the second is of a building overlooking the river.
