La Copa Mundial.....Updates....

I've watched both games for today in Espanol...and understood them. Really all you need to know is a few words and your spanish verbs.
tarjeta amarilla: yellow card
tarjeta roja: red card
pelota: ball
gol: goooooooooooooooaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaallllllllllllllllllllllllllllll!!!
and ole ole!!!
Well the reason why i watched it in Spanish was because the American TV does not cover the biggest sporting event in the world even though they are in the games. They would rather have you pay for it. Well we do have cable but that is at home. And since i was at work, and determined not to miss the game live, i watched it in Spanish and at full volume. There was no way i was going to watch a replay. Even taped it in Spanish and translated it for the customers and my boss. Laila would have been proud of me!
I watch a Spanish morning show that I got hooked on watching when Laila worked with me. It was funny to watch the Ecuador team get the blessings of their local shamen before flying off to the games. Needless to say, i guess the blessing worked. In trinidad, we call them obeahmen. Ecuador won the second game...and a big win it was too! They won Poland: 2:0. My boss reached in time for the second game with Ecuador and Poland. I translated for him because to him everything sounded the same to him while I could actually hear words.
okay, my opinion on the games...I love Germany's team. I guess it will come down to them or Brasil. Both are very good teams. But as long as my Trini is there, i will support Trini. Someone asked me today where i was from and i said "Trinidad." Two seconds after i added, "and Tobago." So that will put be as being born somewhere between the 21 mile stretch between NE T'dad and SW T'go=0) Germany played offense all along. They commanded the first game and it showed in the play. However, in the second game, Poland was supposed to be a better team than Ecuador. I wanted Ecuador to win. Poland, to me, did not look as if they had their act together. They did put up a good fight but really, they missed a lot of chances to score and when Ecuador aimed at the goal, their aim was dead straight. It was obvious from the start that Ecuador would win. I think i gave my customers football fever. The only thing i didnt do was write my team's name on my head with my eyeliner pencil=0)....yes, i am crazy enough to do it! especially when i am this enthuiastic.
really, I think the german team is out to prove themselves after their performance in the last finals of the world cup. they are a team to watch. I hope Kahn plays. Ballack is nursing an injury but he will be there. Looking forward to seeing a lot more games.....
Oh, on ESPN, i learnt that Costa Rica is the first country in the world to abolish their army. Leave it to the americans to involve some form of politics in the games=0)...for the olympics they spoke of Poland "just coming out of their year of mourning for the Pope." really, it was sad but i laughed when they said it....Jon Stewart really had fun with them......and to the games....Ole ole ole ole ole.........................

or instead of learning spanish we can look at the flags
a reg flag means a red flag
and guess what
a yellow flag means a yellow flag!
DUHHHH
and when the ball goes into the goal it means GOALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL,
you can tell this by the announces and crwod cheering!
only spanish needed for watching the world cup is 'pasame la salsa por favor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!'
