FIFA World Cup 2006---Viva La Copa Mundial!!!!

I've waited for this event for four years!!!! Germany 2006!!! whoo hoo!!!!! The first game starts in 2 and a 1/2 hours. Unless something major happens, i will be watching it. I have not been this excited in a long time for any game. i think i have football fever. Really, i feel as if there is an adrenaline rush going on. Germany plays against Costa Rica. I've been watching the Spanish stations because it is the only station where people are as enthuiastic as i am. They are really having fun. I usually support the German Team but this year, I don't know. They went ahead and changed my favorite player on that team. I thought the goal keeper, Kahn, was the strongest player Germany had and they changed him!!! boohoohoo. Was disappointed by that but oh well! I will be keeping watch on Brasil. Brasil has some really promising players. I am paying attention to my Trinidad though. I hope they do well. Don't know if winning is something that will happen because it is their first time there but at least they made it this far. Then we will always remember Croatia in 1998 when they came 3rd. I will support Trinidad and Tobago though. Tomorrow at 12 noon they play.
I've seen in Mexico City a shrine set up where people go and pray to a saint that i guess is the patron saint of football....There is this altar set up and a statue of a young guy dressed in the Mexican football uniform. That is as much as i understand. will research that. So for now, i will be singing my little football jingles and watching the games.
I guess for me and furgie, we get to see some really handsome guys too. I happen to really like David Beckham=0) then there's a few others of course. Will be looking out for them. It just makes watching even more fun....and furgie is just as excited as i am about the games!!
By the way, in smaller news, the Miami Heat lost the first game against the Dallas mavericks. I am not a big huge basketball fan but i really like the Heat. There are some supercool players in there. It's occupied the entire Sun-Sentinel today save for one article on the FIFA cup. bummer! I hope my Trini team does better than Jamaica did in 1998! Ole ole!

Hi Vami,
Some people think football is a matter of life and death. But i guess, it's much more serious than that.It is not just a simple game, it is a weapon of the revolution.
My favourite is always Brasil, coz they die for it. I am looking forward to see every match. i also dream for a time when India takes part in the world cup.
