Spain's victory, Germans win in the added time....Bizzare play of the day to Saudi Arabia and Tunisia

This morning, the games started out with a huge, almost effortless victory for Spain. They were making goal after goal. Saw the Prince and Princess sitting out in the crowd. They showed up to support their country. I was happy for them. Felt bad for the underdog team though. Ukraine was making their debut in the world cup.
After there was a very different match. Whilst most of the countries have lots of Christian players, these two countries, Saudi Arabia and Tunisia, are Islamic countries. They stopped, crowded around each other, went down on their knees and touched their heads to the ground to give thanks for their goals. The game ended up with almost four minutes of added time. A customer was asking me what they would do it they scored. I guess we got our answer! Well, Tunisia tied the game up pretty well...gotta give it to them. they made a fine comeback. There was one Saudi player who scored the second goal. He made an olympic class dash and kicked the ball with such power that there was no doubt that he would score.
Finally, there was the match of the day...and boy was it something! There was Germany and there was Poland. The Poles did their best. they played for 15 minutes or so with one less man and still they put up a fight. Germany scored in the added time. It ended up in a 1-0 game, German win. The German team is undoubtedly strong but they really had to fight for this one. When Germany played this evening, I wanted Poland to win. I switched sides before the game started because of the little issues of racism i was hearing about from the Germans. Turns out that they are not as hospitable as they should be for a country that is hosting the event of events in the World. Hope the little stories of the Trini team being stoned with rotten tomatoes is not true. Will forever change my opininon of the Germans, even though their team is one of the best in the world. They really played well though....and so did the Poles. Was a very very good match. One of the best I've watched.
Tomorrow, my Soca Warriors play. We have about 1.3 million people that will be behind them. That's a small number of fans. My team needs all the support it can get. Decided to get home earlier than usual to watch the match from home. Hopefully, we will score. If we don't i know we will give a good play. Our team is good. We just may do it. Who knows???? We shall see. Tomorrow, I wear my trini colors again! Gotta move with the Soca Warriors!
